solo exhibition of paintings of  Nikolay Nyagolov

On Thursday, 01 November 2018, at 18:30, Largo Art Gallery will present an exhibition of paintings by Nikolay Nyagolov, titled "Sea Moons". This is the third solo show of the Plovdiv artist in "Largo" after "Sea visions" in 2011 and "Serenity" in 2016. All twenty works are new and are specially painted for the exhibit in Varna. Those who are familiar with his work will find in his paintings some of the recurring elements - slices of lemon or watermelon, apple, tea cups, split pomegranates and figs. Also, since it is a sea exhibition - many moons that look like boats and moons that look like moons.

But compared to his previous exhibitions in "Largo", the Bulgarian wizard of the brush has changed his palette. Without neglecting the emblematic white-blue, ocher and yellow-gold, he brings new colors that we haven’t seen before in his art. You will see the mystique violet, the passion of the red, the fiery dance of the orange spots, reaching out from the depths of the tile or the black-blue. Looking at the paintings, you will get the feeling that the artist had fun with his palette, lightly throwing colors on the canvas, giving each its own hues and emotions.

You can see in "Pyramidal Light" the mystical white that shines through the pyramid, which is a symbol of our connection with the sky. This shows in the most natural way that the white symbolizes our relationship with God.

In the "The apple of Creation", the fiery-red emerges from the "forbidden fruit", opposed to the gentle-purple, a symbol of fragility, kindness and tenderness. And here's how to us the red symbolizes passion, and violet - timidity.

In "Tail Light", ah, you can see sparkling yellow light, symbolizing happiness and optimism, accentuated by the severity of the darkness and the mystic of the burgundy. In this painting the light seems to explode like a powerful beam, piercing the darkness, running upward into space, bringing to the universe the life-giving force of the human spirit.

In "Heat and Snow Peak" the wind scatters the birds, the sand creaks under our feet, the heat trembles in the air and flows through yellow light, mixed with a little transparent green and sky-blue and you can see in the back, far, far away, a lonely snow peak. In this picture the most gentle pastel shades and variations of yellow, mixed with white, are a symbol of the pursuit of the unknown and of perfection.

In the end, we will immerse in the magic of the painting "Bay Sunset". There the emotions have colors. The dark-black-blue bowels rise in the evening, reminiscent of peace, the end of the day and the very beginning. You can sense the tranquility of the wise acceptance of each coming end in the green and turquoise of the sea waves that swim towards the shore. But the counterpoint to the tranquil dark depths of the sea is the fiery red, orange and golden sunset. It seems as if the sun has almost sunken behind the horizon. But it will not allow us to forget that the end of the day, the end of love and the end of life can be remembered forever by the glory of achievement, helped by the fireworks of happiness and by the undying human spirit.
