Vassil Stoyev was born in the town of Parvomay on August 7th 1950. He graduated from the National Academy of Arts in 1979 with Prof. Poplilov. He has over 80 solo exhibitions and participations in group exhibitions in a number of prestigious Bulgarian and European galleries, museums and art exhibitions, some of which: "Muse'e del'Athenee" in Geneva, Switzerland; The Museum of Modern Art, Papendrecht, The Netherlands; BernardFelli Gallery and Celine Gallery, Paris, France; Cornerstone Galleries Gallery California, USA, galleries in Austria, Turkey, Malta, Italy, Belgium, Great Britain, Denmark, Japan and others. Vassil Stoyev is a winner of prestigious awards: 1st prize of the Union of Bulgarian Artists, Poster category; Award for participation, first degree in the International Biennial of Arts, Malta; He is the winner of the Plovdiv City Award for painting. He participated and sold his paintings at auction in "SOTHEBY'S", London in 1989. His works are present in museums and public collections of the Mimara Museum, Zagreb, Croatia; National Museum of Fine Arts, Sofia, Bulgaria; City Galleries of Sofia, Plovdiv and Burgas; Valletta National Museum of Art, Malta; TempreArt Foundation, Malta; Nidd'Aigle Association of Artists and Writers, Belgium; Museum of Contemporary Art, Malta; Tempra Museum, Malta; Museum of Contemporary Art - Sammlung Hadwiger.
