Atanas Hranov

Atanas Hranov was born in 1961 in Plovdiv. Graduated High School of Arts in Kotel and in 1987 - the National Art Academy in Sofia, carving, with Professor Anton Donchev. He works mainly in wood sculpture and painting. The artist has over 25 solo exhibitions and participated in over 50 exhibitions in Bulgaria and abroad. Atanas Hranov award winning painting of Plovdiv in 1991, and in 2001 - Annual Award for painting gallery "Diakov" - Plovdiv. Atanas Hranov is an artist who is manifested in different genres of art - painting, sculpture, often combining them. Completed the carving of wood it is the preferred material for the work, he perfectly vledee and used both in his sculptural works as well as in painting. The artist emphasizes the plasticity of wood as a painting on it, and in his paintings builds three-dimensional space by means of illusory painting and installation of various objects in them.
