Nikolai Angelov - Gary was born on November 13, 1978 in Karlovo, Bulgaria. In 2003 he graduated from Veliko Tarnovo University "St. St. Cyril and Methodius” with a degree in "Sculpture", but works mainly in the field of painting. Since 2009 he has been a member of the Society of Artists in Burgas and actively participates in all exhibitions and events of the union. He has over 20 solo exhibitions in Varna, Burgas, Karlovo, Plovdiv, Karnobat and Sofia and numerous participations in group exhibitions. Nikolai Angelov - Gary has five solo exhibitions at Largo Art Gallery - "Fairy Tale" (2012), "New Day" (2013), "Love Spaces" (2014), "Flight over the Day" (2015) and "Celebration of Joy" (2018). In 2014, Gary won the UBA Award for Young Artist at the National Exhibition "Friends of the Sea" in Burgas. In March 2015 Nikolay Angelov - Gary won the Grand Prize "Golden Aesop" at the XXII Edition of the International Biennial of Humor and Satire in the Arts, Gabrovo 2015. He is also one of ten Bulgarian artists who have won the prize "Artist of the decade 2008 - 2018" of Largo Art Gallery. The artist also works in the field of icon painting and participated in the painting of the chapel "St. Panteleimon” in the town of Karlovo (2003), the Church of the Nativity of the Mother of God in the village of Bratovo (2007) and frescoes in the Troyan Monastery (2016). Since 2012 he is a member of the Bulgarian Iconographic Association. Winner of the "Artist of the Decade 2008 - 2018" award at Largo Art Gallery. Since 2019 he has been working at Garyeli Art Studio and Gallery, Burgas. He lives and works in Burgas.
